**Martha Peelor Scholarship**

The Western Pennsylvania Lactation Consultants Association (WPLCA) is committed to supporting local individuals seeking educational advancement in the lactation profession. Scholarships of up to $500 are being offered to encourage and support individuals pursuing additional education in the field of lactation. Items to be funded may be but are not limited to, conferences, clinic hour experiences, online programs, books, and related expenses. Black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) are underrepresented among International Board Certified Lactation Consultants in the United States.
WPLCA acknowledges that diversity elevates and enriches the field of lactation and has the power to improve patient care and positively impact parent, child, and family health outcomes. Therefore, candidates of diverse racial, ethnic, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds will be given priority for the scholarship(s).

Applications will be accepted and scholarships awarded on a rolling basis during the year as long as funding permits.
